Congratulations to JAXPORT! On May 9th, the Port of Jacksonville set a record for largest container ship received when it welcomed the ONE Stork into the Blount Island terminal. The ONE Stork is 1,194 feet long with a capacity of 14,026 TEU besting the previous record by more than 2,000 TEU.
Numerous spectators along the St. John's River were delighted as they watched McAllister tugs Janet McAllister, New River and Vicki McAllister assist the massive container ship on the two-hour journey from the Atlantic Ocean to the terminal.
Bravo to the Captains and crews aboard the tugs and to the team at McAllister Towing of Florida who coordinated on this record-breaking arrival. Thank you to Docking Pilot Bobby Johnson for the photos.
